Description: On the gardening bookshelf, "Garden Mania" stands alone in its fresh, fun, and colorful approach to every conceivable aspect of gardening, past and present. Packaged in an attractive 2-color slipcase and full of 400 vivid photographs of garden design and ornament by Philip de Bay (former photographer for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, ) along with whimsical, historical diagrams and illustrations, "Garden Mania" covers everything from hedges, mazes, and topiary to temples, orangeries, and water gardens.

Gardeners and garden-lovers will delight in the many examples of expert plantsmanship, whether admiring official plans for magnificent parks and extensive formal gardens, light-hearted details such as hidden fountains, swings, and slides, or the more substantial entertainments of theater and menagerie. Designs for vast, sweeping gardens as well as for delicate ornamentation such as statues, urns, and openwork in trellis and pergola are all included, making "Garden Mania" a collage of grandeur and detail. Accompanying Philip de Bay's photographs are engaging introductions by James Bolton, garden history professor and director of the world-famous Inchbald School of Design in London.

Colorful and unique, "Garden Mania" is the perfect gift for the garden-mad and lovers of history.
